SCAM ALERT...SCAM ALERT...

March 28, 2025

GPA Members have been receiving email that APPEAR to be coming on behalf of the Association.  The Hook is referencing "Distribution/Member List"

The GPA IS NOT sending this out.    Our only mass emails are informative and notifications of upcoming events and GPA news.  The GPA does not solicit (other than dues of course, which are very specific) any requests for contacts, GIFT Cards, Money Orders and any other odd requests.

Please continue to be vigilant in your access to the World Wide Web for it is full of nefarious and indecent prevaricators!!!

A letter to the Membership

Greetings Members,

I want to take just a moment to discuss our dues and what you can receive from them annually by being an active member.  Currently, in 2025, dues are $55.00.  We meet 5 times a year: January, March, May, September, and the Tri-State in Oct/Nov.

We, on average, offer high-quality training on generally 3 to 4 of the gatherings which have typically accompanied lunch after the business meeting going into the training.

Historically, we have not charged tuition to active members when we host the GA Tri-State conference.  Recently, we have supplemented $75 and now $50.00 to members’ tuition to out-of-state Tri-State tuitions in North and South Carolina, respectively.

Keep in mind that it costs us an average $12,000.00 to host a conference.  If we average 50 attendees, that would be a tuition cost of $240.00.  Free in GA and heavily discounted in SC and NC.  Additional training at $150-$300 four times a year ($400 to $900) annually for free, plus a very decent Lunch ($45 annually), all for your $55.00 dues to a not-for-profit 501c3 organization.

Now, I cannot put a value on the fellowship, mentorship, networking, and all-around fantastic people who have been and are members of the Georgia Polygraph Association.  Co-workers, friends, and confidants from whom to share, seek, and discover the skills to hone our craft and make us the Professionals we are.  These last but not least attributes of being a member are no lesser value than all the Gold in Ft. Knox.

Finally, I ask for your understanding for the recent decision to increase the GPA Dues starting in 2026.  This was voted on by the membership in attendance at our March meeting, and it was done after a good and honest discussion.  With that being said, 2026 will see a modest $20.00 increase to $75.00.

Thank you for your continued work with the Association, and please know this was not an easy task nor an easy decision.  It was a decision, though, that was best for the continued benefits of the Association to its members.  I appreciate every one of our members and cannot express my happiness to be amongst your ranks.
